Let an audience be able to find it themselves without spoonfeeding it.

I love westerns. I've always wanted to do a western.

So, deadpan I think just means not acknowledging for one second that you think that this is funny and clever.

My only job as an actor is to try and understand the character and, to the best of my ability, bring this character to life.

There's nothing more difficult to do than comedy.

Since it's based on my parents, it's more emotionally close to me than some of my more surreal plays. And then I like the balance of the comic and the sad. It should play as funny, but you should care about the characters and feel sad for them.

I'd love to do a comedy. Umm, I don't know when that will happen - maybe when I'm, like, 80 or something. But yeah, I'd love to. I'm just waiting for the right person to see my hilarious nature and offer me a comedy.

You either have chemistry or you don't, but a lot of what attracts me is a guy's mind and humor and talent. I need to get to know all those things before I fall for someone.
