Growing up, I didn't have a lot of role models - Bonnie Raitt, Lita Ford, Jennifer Batten.

I aim to inspire a bunch of female guitar players to get out there and take it seriously and never give up.

There's a lot of players I look up to, and I hope that I can be a role model to young female guitar players. Hopefully they can believe in themselves more.

There aren't too many female guitar players.

My great-grandfather was a man of great vision, drive, and native intelligence, with some human flaws amplified by limited education, limited social range, and questionable influence from some of his advisers.

As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing.

Back in the day, I actually studied photography in Florence for a few months, and my photography teacher took away my digital camera and said, 'No, use this - it's analog and it's square.' It was a Holga camera, a very cheap $3 or $4 plastic camera. And that's what inspired 'Instagram'.

There was nothing I could - and wanted to - learn in school. It was just a complete waste of my time.
