I was an actress long before I was a reality TV person.

My mother was a teacher. She was grooming my brother and me to be successful, accomplished people.

I just have to be myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm going to make mistakes; I might say the wrong thing. I have to be responsible to my community, and I feel like I am, but then I have to not be so hard on myself.

I don't have children, and I don't want children.

I mean, I look at my dad. He was twenty when he started having a family, and he was always the coolest dad. He did everything for his kids, and he never made us feel like he was pressured. I know that it must be a great feeling to be a guy like that.

I was divorced when my children were young, so I was a single mother for a while. It's so hard to have to do every little thing yourself and be forced to navigate the rocky emotions of motherhood alone.

I'm happy with the decision I've taken. I get up in the morning, and I'm happy, and that is what is important for me in the end. I greet my family, my brothers, my parents. Me being happy doesn't have a price.

My family owns a music store in Claremont, California, called The Claremont Folk Music Center.
