Baseball wasn't necessarily my first sport in terms of liking it. I'd never played baseball or softball growing up.

I think any player, as a rookie coming into any sport, has to prove themselves.

You'd be out on the court and for an hour, two hours, sometimes an entire roasting hot day, and every single thing you hit would go in. Hit that ball as hard as you wanted, wherever you wanted, and it went in.

My dad was a good athlete. My mom had longevity. There were some athletic genes that certainly got passed down.

If I stayed a football player, my career would have been over 20 years ago. As it is, my knees are shot. I found I got the same good feeling in acting that I had in sports, but I found I could have a more profound impact on people.

Unfortunately, sometimes the fans forget who puts the money and passion into the club. It's funny, but when you win, it's the coach and the players who are responsible, but when you lose, it's the owner's fault; but that's football.
