When I was growing up I would always watch the more experienced players to see what they were doing and why they were doing it.

You want to achieve the most you can in the short period you have in your career as a professional footballer.

Every experience, good or bad, is a learning process.

Players at the highest level have got high football intelligence, so they can adapt, but at the same time you need a structure and an idea of how you've got to play that system.

I have been doing this for a long ,and it is the players who learn who you need to work with. You have to coach them to think and understand the game. If they cannot, then you have to tell them, 'You have to do this anyway,' but the best thing to do is say, 'Listen, if he is doing this, then maybe you have to do that.'

I think a lot of people fail to work on their sight, even though it's probably one of the most important sides to tennis. It's also about reactions and concentration and focus, and I think it's all very closely related.

I am a believer in passing the ball on the ground, I was lucky to be part of teams like that at Arsenal, with the French national team and with Monaco and at Barcelona. I know you can win in other ways, but I believe that is the way football should be played.

I did realise more than ever, after the stabbing, that tennis is a business - a tough business.
