I feel like I've been very smart in the way that I carry myself and treat myself. I feel like my mom was a big part of that just because she's always let us make our own decisions, and we've known very much about the mistakes and the dangers already of whatever this Hollywood life may be.

When you are a rapper, there's always hesitation in taking on certain roles because of creditability, but Rza is one of those guys who doesn't worry about what people will say. He's a talented guy and can dive into anything.

I feel like, a lot of times, when you have a specific sound that you want and are searching for, you want the right group to help you put the kind of music out that you want.

My father had an amazing legacy, and so does my mother. I wanted to be able to have both names there. In my personal life, it's Evan Naess. In my career life, it's Evan Ross.

The one worry that I always have with TV is that it's such a long commitment. You sign on to be there for a good amount of time, and then you can't go and do films and things like that.

A lot of times, what people see is what they hear or what's on your Instagram.

My mom liked to have us travel in first class with her. She's like, 'I work for my money, and I want my kids to live a certain kind of way.' My dad used to get so mad at my mom for flying us first class. So it was a clash on that.

I want to be remembered for the good work that I've done, for the positive work, and as somebody who was innovative and who people enjoyed.
