There was always a conscious effort on my part to do different cinema. It's taken time for the directors to accept me.

It takes me some time to get into what I am doing - since I am not a trained actor, I don't have that skill. I have to think of what I am doing and how it comes through.

I often meet directors who want to cast me as the protagonist, but if the rest of the characters are not strong enough, the film is bound to fall flat on a creative level.

I don't get too much work to begin with, and whatever I get is mostly not good enough.

I have had so many gaps that I have not been consistently working, and the thing is that you get better with more work.

If the audience likes your work, if they like you, they don't think whether you are married or have children or not. I made that quite clear.

There is a future for English films. Don't we all talk, breathe, and think in English? If we can talk and think in English, we can also make films in English.

I don't like questions that delve into my personal life.
