Something I learned very early on in my career is that there are a lot of things that you do not have any power over.

I mean I tried to transform myself through characters throughout my career.

And I was victim to that very early in my career, where I would go into auditions, and I'd be wearing a big T shirt, a big baggy T shirt and loose jeans. You know, to try and show people that there was more to me than just that.

So I did that for a long time in my career, and I waited for parts to play myself just physically down a little bit. But I do feel like I'm at a place in my career now where I don't necessarily fret about that too much anymore.

My career's been a bumpy road, but at the same time I think I am living proof that if you put enough work into things you decide more or less where you want to end up.

I had a lot of pressure in my career: when you play at World Cup or Champions League final, there is pressure on your shoulders.

My mother is my biggest role model, and she showed me how to do it right. She was very present in our lives and has a great career of her own. Same with my father. So I knew it was possible going in to stay closely connected to my children while also chasing big dreams. And it's given me great perspective.

I am an entrepreneur, but not in the conventional sense. I have learnt business as time passed, but I do not have a B-school education.
