Philadelphians continue to benefit every day from the flow of federal dollars to improve our infrastructure and create jobs.

The U.S. and Europe may have more breakthroughs in neuroscience, but you have to put that in perspective. The U.S. has 350 million people, and there are 28 countries in the European Union. Israel is third behind these countries in its neuroscience developments, but per capita, it is way ahead of everyone.

There are no problems that exist in the District that have been solved elsewhere in the country. Whatever problems exist in this city exist other places.

Democracy derailed is democracy denied.

As a child I experienced firsthand the severe effects of poverty and illiteracy, especially upon women and children. My parents taught me the importance of education and that it was a key to improving an individual's life.

Just as China achieved much more than India in the realm of public health and education under an austere Communist regime, so its economic growth under a capitalist-friendly government strikes a visitor from India as nothing less than spectacular.

No matter what, the way to learn to program is to write code and rewrite it and see it used and rewrite again. Reading other people's code is invaluable as well.

Tis well enough for a servant to be bred at an University. But the education is a little too pedantic for a gentleman.
