My parents paid me small amounts for cleaning my room or cleaning the dishes and stuff, but I never really had a real job before I started on my professional tennis career.

It's very expensive to be a professional tennis player with all the travel and the flights and the hotels and everything.

There are periods when you feel really good. You feel the ball is bigger. The court is larger. You feel like you can't miss. And then there are periods when you feel, 'OK, I'm not feeling great.' But I still need to try to find a way to win.

I used to play football all the time. In the U.S., people don't play football, so I had to learn basketball. Looking back, that's what I like about my life - doing new things, having a new perspective.

Turkish people are very emotional, very passionate about football, really want to see their team do well.

I would always love to be an athlete, but it's got to be a tough day when you have to hang up those cleats.
