I always wanted to be a good actress and a serious actress. I wasn't in the profession to, quote-unquote, meet the stars.

There's nothing obvious or predictable in acting. That's what it means to be in this profession.

Traditional models of work only let us cross out the needs on the very bottom of the pyramid - basic sustenance. On the flipside, independent employment within the network of the new sharing economy addresses our needs for a sense of community and belonging, autonomy and respect, creativity and problem solving.

I look at composers and conductors, anybody involved in music or writing or art in general; they got more done as they got older. If I can, I'll be one of those people because what I do is my passion.
