There's definitely stories I would like to tell; I'd like to see more films focusing on women's lives.

When we think about the past, we think, 'It must have been so boring.' It's actually not.

I think women today are really struggling with these dual roles: How do you have a full-time career and be ambitious and still take care of your family?

I enjoyed L.A. because it was nice to be in the sunshine and live in a house with proper wardrobes. I loved the space.

Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.

The Confederate flag was the flag of the American South during the civil war. It was the flag of people who were fighting against their own government in an attempt to retain slavery. It was the flag of people who thought slavery was no problem, who thought slavery was a good thing.

More than 55,000 men from Bomber Command lost their lives, of whom 38,000 were British. That's one in 10 of all the British servicemen lost in the Second World War. It beggars belief that there has not been some recognition for what they gave until now.

Today it is becoming increasingly apparent to thoughtful Americans that we cannot fight the forces and ideas of imperialism abroad and maintain any form of imperialism at home. The war has done this to our thinking.
