I like the idea of conceiving a show and putting on a show, and especially when I got to the place where I could play theaters.

Uncharted territory is a good place to be in.

I'm clearly doing what I want. I hope kids can see my act and feel like they can be slightly more comfortable in their own skin because I'm being so ridiculously comfortable in mine. I'm not that comfortable in my skin the moment I walk offstage. But I try to project that while I'm on it.

Even in movies like 'Superbad,' they're all lovable kids.

I always liked having a good time. I got into this business because I got fired from any job I ever had because I stayed out late playing music.

My goal is to get another 30 years out of this business. So I need to figure out the fuel to do that. And so far, I think it's respect and quality and company, not celebrity or box office or stardom. It's not a sprinter's approach. It's more like a long-distance thing. You can stick around a lot longer if you kind of slow-play it.

Having so many close calls in my career, it was such an awesome feeling to get that first world title.

I know that Kelly Clarkson is going to continue to have an important career. And I believe it will be a lasting one.
