I have barely seen my son since he came into the world. Even though I hear his voice on the phone almost every day, it is very tough to not be present while he is growing up.

I live in the present and in the future. Not in the past.

Innovation, creativity, and lunacy goes hand in hand.

Actually, I have never been a great fan of martial arts competitions. Not even when I was training martial arts myself.

Here's the reality. The image of a white Jesus has been used to justify enslavement, conquest, colonialism, the genocide of indigenous peoples. There are literally millions of human beings whose lives have been snuffed out by people who conquered under the banner of a white god.

So much of what comes out of the faith community seems so dour and somber, and we want to say, 'Hey, we're real people. You can be a person of faith and really enjoy life and laugh.'

We just feel so blessed, like God picked us two goobers to do this crazy thing and speak up for people that don't have a voice and give them something to hang onto. If we've done that for one person, I think we've done our job.

It's not listed in the Bible, but my spiritual gift, my specific calling from God, is to be a television talk-show host.
