Before I started writing for myself, I was writing country records, and they were coming out dope.

I feel like people are so closed-minded at times.

I feel like a lot of people have a hard time finding what they do, or they have a job or career and not a passion. That's miserable for me. Just find your purpose; understand that you have one life to live.

You take the job, you learn from it, and you move on.

Wrestling, it's all about playing with people's emotions. You need to be better than just a great athlete; you need to be the best. At one time, I might have been. When I look back, I remember how much I enjoyed it.

I get very envious of my general news colleagues who are always being handed sexy new stuff like global warming, China, and Donald Trump, while my sports colleagues and I must be eternally satisfied with the same old home-court advantage, soccer, and momentum.

In high school, the drama program shifted to musicals, and that's not a skill set I possess, so I let sports be my outlet, and I agreed to play football in college. I was invited to play at the University of Missouri, and I played there for a year, but when all of the talented people are plucked and put in one place, it's scary; it's tough.

I really focused on three things in high school - my company, basketball and my school work.
