I know for a fact I've put in the same amount of hours as every up-and-coming male rapper right now, if not more. I'm a feminist with regard to my music and the music industry.

Coming up as a female rapper - well, a female artist in general - everything is just so black and white.

In music today, people are against females. We don't have that empowerment anymore. We don't have that voice.

When people listen to artists, and you turn on the radio, it's a lot of gimmicks. And that's real. So I take it like there's nobody keeping it honest and truthful no more, especially as far as young teenagers and females.

I'm a writer of faith who worries about the intolerance of religion. I look at the past and fear we haven't learned from it. I believe that humanity is capable of evil as well as great acts of courage and goodness. I have hope. Deep down, I believe in the human spirit, although sometimes that belief is shaken.

Rejection is a common occurrence. Learning that early and often will help you build up the tolerance and resistance to keep going and keep trying.

My motivation at the moment is around knowing how it feels to turn a business around, and I can't wait to have that feeling again.

My motivation is like it is always, try to be the best and try to win, that is part of my character.
