Apple is in a position they've been in a lot of times before. They're like Moses showing the way to the promised land, but they don't actually go there.

If companies don't think systemically enough - if they try to capture too much of the value - eventually, innovation moves somewhere else.

Empowerment of individuals is a key part of what makes open source work, since in the end, innovations tend to come from small groups, not from large, structured efforts.

It's hard to make something as large as a government change. It's a little bit like building the transcontinental railroad.

The fundamental issue is: In the world of the Internet, is there a place for a packager of services? Does the customer want to go surf the Net and go to every one of 50,000 Web sites? Or will people pay a reasonable amount for somebody to go out and preselect and package what they want? My guess is they will both coexist.

I think that AI will lead to a low cost and better quality life for millions of people. Like electricity, it's a possibility to build a wonderful society. Also, right now, I don't see a clear path for AI to surpass human-level intelligence.

I admit that I look at my social media when I'm killing time, like on a plane and such. It's just less embarrassing getting caught on Twitter than getting caught playing Candy Crush.

I'm surrendering myself to the realities of the Internet.
