I raised five children. They all have different personalities. All of them have different issues, different levels of success. That was a learning experience for me.

We cannot embrace God's forgiveness if we are so busy clinging to past wounds and nursing old grudges.

I believe that God has put gifts and talents and ability on the inside of every one of us. When you develop that and you believe in yourself and you believe that you're a person of influence and a person of purpose, I believe you can rise up out of any situation.

I don't believe in a personal god. It's good to give thanks, whether or not there's a god. There's no reason not to live life to the fullest. Morality is all the more important for people who don't expect to get a piece of celestial candy after they die.

God wants you to live for others and to live that presence well.
