I've always watched the NBA growing up.

Coming to Beijing, throughout all of what has happened and the success I have gained, I look at it as I was just fortunate and blessed.

My favorite point guard, growing up, was Magic Johnson. The reason why I say that is he was a winner, and he did everything in his power to make his teammates better. That's what the game is all about as a point guard.

I learned to treat everybody with respect. I've learned to be focused, be a professional person, the kind who is always an honor to be around.

Growing up the son of a director has made me very aware of the various turns that a directing career can take. Sometimes your films turn out exactly as you want. Sometimes they don't. I spent a lot of my childhood on sets. I think as a joke, my father gave me a line of dialogue in each of his films during the worst moments of my puberty.

Salvation cannot be bought with the currency of obedience; it is purchased by the blood of the Son of God. Thinking that we can trade our good works for salvation is like buying a plane ticket and then supposing we own the airline. Or thinking that after paying rent for our home, we now hold title to the entire planet earth.

You can't have a happy family if you don't have a happy marriage.

In 1975 I met Alison Brown and in 1982 we were married. She works for Cornell Computer Services.
