Not many people are able to say that they had in their professional career the chance to perform in two bands that won Grammys and were multiplatinum bands.

I think to stay in one sound is a career killer.

Who you are as a performer is one thing, but when you're making records, you're dealing with musicians' tastes, their goals, their wants, their needs, everyone's individual pride.

There's a beauty in being part of a band, when there's equality and trust.

You have to come in and be that character when you walk into the room. That's what one of my first acting teachers taught me. You know, don't go in there being Jennifer and then expect to flip and change, because they're not going to have that imagination.

I'm grateful for being able to explore different avenues of my writing, whether it be music or stories, and it have an audience.

My goal is to be one with the music. I just dedicate my whole life to this art.

Imagination comes of not having things.
