I think we have to secure our borders and make sure that people coming in are coming here not to do us harm.

What I find is most people have a civics book understanding for how Congress works and how a bill moves.

Everybody has values. Now, you know it may be formed in a secular setting, it may be formed in an intellectual setting, but everybody comes forward with values.

Now most people do not want an ordinary life in which they do a job well, earn the respect of their collaborators and competitors, bring up a family and have friends. That's not enough any more, and I think that is absolutely tragic - and I'm not exaggerating - that people feel like a decent, ordinary, fun life is no longer enough.

People always say to me, 'Well, how can a marriage last when you're away as much as you are?' And I always say, 'Well, absence makes the heart grow fonder.' That time apart from each other has actually strengthened our relationship.

I think what 'Shameless' does well is highlight real relationships. And in any real relationship, there are ups and downs and elements that change the dynamics of the relationship.

Remember that a gesture of friendship, no matter how small, is always appreciated.
