I'm a character actress, and I've done a lot of different shows, but 'Gilmore Girls' is the one that I'm stopped in the mall, in the restaurant, and that I'm recognized for. I'm so touched by it.

I'm very proud to be a part of 'Gilmore Girls,' and it's not lost on me that I'm not a huge part of the show, but fans still recognize me and care about my characters.

I get a lot of my sense of comedy from my mother. She's very funny, but she doesn't know she's funny.

Comedy just comes naturally, so I've always gravitated to comedy.

Art was a way of life in my family. My grandfather, N.C. Wyeth, who died a year before I was born, had been a prominent painter. So was my father, Andrew. My two aunts and two of my uncles also earned a living as painters.

At some point, I came out to a lot of friends and some family, but then I went back in the closet when I started working as an actor in America.

We never really tried to shock for shock's sake on 'Family Guy'. If something was horribly offensive and shocking, we would put it in if it was also hysterically funny.

I strongly believe in my own rights and wrongs and impose them on myself and my family.
