In the business world and the volunteer world, each job has certain requirements that must be met in order for that job to be done properly and for that organization to survive and prosper.

While different people may approach opportunities in different ways, we need to base decisions on a fundamental set of values as we chart our course of action.

We all know that change is inevitable. It provides us with a challenge and an opportunity to grow and improve and to attract new members with new ideas.

But change must always be balanced with some degree of consistency.

As a white woman with a privileged education, I'm keenly aware that I founded an organization that can only realize its goal if it enlists many more leaders who share the backgrounds of the students and families we work with.

We're building an independent political program that can run electoral politics and then turn on a dime to hold our leaders to task, in case they suddenly develop that old case of amnesia! We'll be there to remind them what they promised and who they promised to work for!

Every day, we learn of more cyber attacks in our nation and around the world. In the United States, these attacks have the potential to destroy our military and economic security and, perhaps, impact the process we use to elect our leaders.

Leadership is an ever-evolving position.
