In the U.S., women smile more than men. In the U.K., there's no difference between men and women.

I remember, once I was stressed, with an upcoming paper deadline. That little Microsoft Word clippy guy would show up in my face, jumping around and asking if I needed help. It had no understanding of my emotions and had zero empathy. That got me interested in this idea of tech being responsive to our emotions.

I am a firm believer that transparency goes hand in hand with collective intelligence.

I do believe I have certain strengths as a female CEO, such as having another level of awareness through emotional intelligence.

The idea of free software is that users of computing deserve freedom. They deserve in particular to have control over their computing. And proprietary software does not allow users to have control of their computing.

Thus, after finishing high school, I started with high expectations and enthusiasm to study chemistry at the famous Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.

We are really trying to move from being just a technology provider to being a partner with our customers.

Reading the text of my blog itself is not really the interesting part. The exciting part is how the Internet allows me to be the eyes and ears for the people sending me postings from Africa.
