In Canada, we have so much land, so much space, and so few people.

Once you're on the set and shooting, it's all just cinema. You have actors and cameras.

I would love to write a script where the main character is a woman. I know I can direct a film where the main character is a woman. I cannot write that film.

If you're writing a screenplay from scratch, it involves a lot of creation.

I was lucky because my mum was a teacher and showed me how to read and write. But most importantly, she encouraged me to use my imagination.

I've essentially done theater for more of my life than I've done television or film, and it's really something I feel I know better.

I think my printing to this day looks like the printing right out of a comic book. Actually, I always wanted to be in a comic book. I watched cartoons when I was a kid, too, and both comics and cartoons lit fire in my imagination. This realm holds a lot of interest for me, a lot of passion for me. So to be comic-ized, yeah, that's cool.

Station to Station' came out of a sense of urgency - a sense that culture, be it art, film or architecture, has become so compartmentalised. For this project, we wanted to break that and create a language that is more nomadic and less materialistic and really empowering for the creators and the audience.
