I began my career with Gujarati and Hindi plays in 1973.

In theatre, after the curtain rises, it's all about me. I can either elevate myself with my performance or be mediocre.

If the point of an activity is to be relaxing, changing that point to money isn't a great idea. Then you have to show up for it differently, and that can take the fun out of it, absolutely. I'm a big fan of turning your hobbies into businesses, but not if it's the hobby you do to relax and unplug.

I really don't spend my money that much unless I'm reinvesting in my business.

I was offered a few shows, but the money didn't work out, but I'm not very keen on judging such shows. I'm happy in my space as a composer.

I never thought I'd make any money at all doing this business. Film was never even on the cards.
