I was always told as a kid the most important thing you could have was a job that paid you sick pay if you needed it and came with a bit of a pension.

The worst job that I ever did, I used to have a Saturday job cleaning the dough off bread-making machines for Warburtons in Bolton. That was horrendous.

Every parent just wants their child to be happy and to protect them. I should be the happiest I have ever been with my career, family and friends, but I can honestly say I am never happy in myself now. I constantly worry about them.

From my family, my mum, auntie and nan were all strong women and why I am who I am today.

Everybody in my family who had a job worked in the auto industry or something related to it.

My father worked in a factory and as a child it felt very secure. It felt very secure because everybody had work, the schools were free, so there was a security of knowing that the war had finished and families would come together again.

I was interested with exploring the idea of who gets to be in possession of the land - how it's sometimes impossible to go back home, how family can be the thing that drags you down.
