The learning from my entire career is: never compare yourself to anyone because it'll destroy you.

There is a lot I need to thank God for, everyday. But I think I am blessed because I have a very loving, understanding and supporting family.

My mother has fabulous skin which she gracefully passed on to me.

What is important is the character that I play. Making an impact is far more important than the length of the role.

We just happened to come along at time where there hadn't been a new young adult drama that also could appeal to adults as well in quite some time. We sort of found a little bit of a niche.

It's not only about the material things - I also have a spiritual side.

Writing historical novels can be dangerous. We need to be as accurate and as fair about the historical record as we can be, at the same time as creating our fictional characters and, hopefully, telling a good story. The challenge is weaving the fiction into the history.

I wrote 'Young Guns' on spec because I really believed that the young age of these guys historically, the whole legend of Billy dying at 21, would attract a young staple of stars, and that would be the game-changer.
