Growing up Catholic has been a gift.

I went to Marymount College in New York City with a lot of kids whose parents paid their way, and I wouldn't even have thought of asking my parents - they couldn't afford it, not with six kids!

You know, I like playing around with my voice and trying all different types of kooky voices.

But what I like to sing mostly is blues and cabaret style.

The Sisters of Notre Dame at St. Aloysius Grade School influenced my life tremendously. This was due to the fact that they encouraged you always to make sure that God is the focus of your life, and they didn't allow you to do anything except to the very best of your ability.

Here is God's purpose - for God, to me, it seems, is a verb not a noun, proper or improper.

I have faith in my art.

God's designs may be frequent justification for our actions, but it is we, the self-made men, who take the credit.
