The Wayne Education Building was the first classroom building that we have done on the Wayne campus.

And a building must be like a human being. It must have a wholeness about it, something that is very important.

And exciting buildings are fine periodically.

We build buildings which are terribly restless. And buildings don't go anywhere. They shouldn't be restless.

For me, going away to work is the hardest part of my life and career.

My business is not to show anybody anything; my job is just to do it.

Managers, regardless of salary, should not be allowed to earn or use comp time. They are expected to work as many hours as needed to get the job done - especially at these salary levels.

I came out of UCB and, before that, punk rock, and the whole deal was you do it yourself. Get up and rent the space, get up and press your own records, get up and silkscreen your own tees, get it done yourself. That sort of self-reliance will only serve me. Any time I lose sight of that, my career suffers.
