Growing up, I've always felt I was God's favoured child. Circumstances to help me just happen.

It is my philosophy that one should not excel in only one thing but try to strike a balance between different things.

If you ask me what I should say to the girls who are making money, I think it's as normal as a guy making money.

I believe in finishing what I start; not being able to do that makes me feel weak.

I like to be asked about the projects I'm working on. I like to be asked about the books I'm reading, the things I'm interested in, what's exciting me right now, or even politics. Sometimes that's fun.

When men and women, boys and girls, are denied the right to education, the right to own land, the access to basic services like healthcare and clean water, a fair price for the crops they grow, a fair wage for the work they do, or the right to be part of making decisions that affect them, the result is poverty.

I don't have a lot of skills, but one thing I can do is, I can compartmentalize. I can make that a little world that I can go back to, so I can be a waitress, or I can be a teacher, and then go and work on my book.

I wonder whether if I had an education I should have been more or less a fool that I am.
