I love when people laugh. I love when they cry, I like a story to say something, and I hope the audience feels happier leaving the theatre than when it came in.

I truly believe the art's larger than the artist. Who cares about John Steinbeck? I care about the Joad family.

Whenever I have a problem, I always talk to someone away from cricket; usually a friend or a family member who is invested in wanting to help me but who won't give me a coach's perspective or a cricketer's perspective.

I always was a weird child. My mother told me the story that, in kindergarten, I would come home and tell her about this weird kid in my class who drew only with black crayons and didn't speak to other kids. I talked about it so much that my mother brought it up with the teacher, who said, 'What? That's your son.'

I grew up in a single-wide, three-bedroom mobile home with my family. And now I see them, like, half a dozen times a year. Figuring out how to come home and talk to them again and feel like myself has probably been the greatest challenge.
