One may assume that playing a transgender is different, but I'm simply playing a third gender. Why should it make my acting process any different?

The #MeToo movement is not about shaming people; it's about what we plan to do now on to make things more liveable for our women.

Mum's always been a go-getter and passed on the same values to us. From starting her own supermarket to learning new things and staying updated on technology and applications, she's always constantly learning and growing as a person. So, I didn't have to look outside the house for a role model because my mum was right there, ambitious and driven.

It was only after a visit to a learning centre, where they taught me public speaking, that my personality emerged.

If I won the lottery I'd start a charity that helped little family hardware stores, cobblers and fruit shops open in city centres.

At home, my parents were quite old, so the surrounding was of elder people. There was no noise. Reading books was encouraged; TV was not encouraged, so I was the geeky, studious type of girl.

I'm still very much plugging away. But if I can build my career, I'll do it like Eric Bana. He has a family; he has his roots. He still loves Melbourne. He's a great role model to have.

One of the reasons we all still read Jane Austen is because her books are about universal things which still matter today - love, money, family. They haven't gone out of fashion, so it's not throwing the baby out with the bathwater to rework her in a contemporary style.
