My dancing idol is my dad. Growing up watching him dance to Northern Soul I used to think ‘He looks cool.'

It was only when I got to 21 that my personality started coming out a little bit more.

I never wanted to design clothes. I never wanted to work for the fashion industry. Shoes sort of belong to the fashion industry, which is why I'm part of the fashion industry. But that's never been my thought. My thought since I was a child was really to design those shoes for girls on stage.

During my career I've enjoyed re-invigorating and contextualizing classic characters that are relatable to contemporary audiences.

One of the defining things about my career on camera is I like to play different characters. That gets difficult to do. People don't trust you to do something different. In animation, it's all about trust and how far can you go away from yourself. It's a really marvelous environment that's extremely creative.
