I don't think there is enough youth employment or enough push for youths to kind of do want they want to do.

When I was growing up, we didn't have much money. What was important in my house was to have food on the table, be happy, and have our family.

I was painfully shy as a child; I was dyslexic. I had a single mother who's an immigrant. I just didn't believe acting was something that people like me could do on a professional level.

I can't wait to take my son to see 'Wonder Woman' - I can't wait to show him all the female characters can be well-rounded people.

You can achieve one thing, but because of that, you have to adapt or lose something else. If you end up in a relationship, you sometimes have to lose the closeness of your friendships, for example, or you have to move away somewhere... For me, that creates the sense of melancholy which I think exists in most people's lives.

Make that extra effort for every relationship. Whether it's with your parents, your children, your husband or your friends. It makes a difference to them. I try to give my kids a lot of solo time where I play with them, talk to them, listen to them. Similarly, you give time for your workout. You slot a time for it, no matter what.

Love, friendship, networking - these are all critical connections and the foundation of a healthy, happy life.

It goes back in the black community that the police are not your friends. That's an old, old, deep understanding that we have, that it's going to take a lot to undo that in our minds.
