Hook' was one of my favorite movies when I was growing up, so we played with that theme on the title 'Never Land.'

I don't like calling it Christian rap. Titles are so limiting. It's hip-hop. I'm a rapper.

A lot of my friends - I am the only white person in their circle. Being able to hear other perspectives besides the white conservative approach has really given me a perspective that I want to share and challenge people to think about.

Nobody - regardless of how they feel or behave - deserves to be on the other end of receiving hatred and discrimination.

I definitely have friends who gave me a tag for a joke I already had. Like, 'Here's another line.' A tag is, 'Oooooh, it's an industry term.' It's like, there's the punchline, and a tag is like a secondary punchline.

To me the goal of comedy is to just laugh, which is a really high hearted thing, visceral connection and reaction.

I do think comedy needs to be a living thing, but I think without a great script and fully realized characters, you cannot keep it living. Otherwise, it just becomes long and rambling, indulgent. So I think you need both, frankly.

I put my parents through mini hell with my laziness and poor grades, so I love making them laugh when they see me on television. When I work, I'm always thinking, 'Would my mother find this funny?' The belly-laugh jokes will hit her every time.
