It's important to reflect upon how far we've come in achieving gender equality in the workplace and how we could move faster toward even greater goals.

When you come into a role, there seems to be just a ton of different places you can make an impact. But it's critical in that first year to be seen to be a leader that can actually accomplish things and has a sense of priorities.

There are three things that I have found were really critical in my first year: listening, prioritizing, and communicating. I don't think they're different for women. It's really about that first year as a CEO.

But all actors go through the process, it's hit and miss, you have achievement and failure.

The advanced stats are great to look at for my long-term goals and what I'm trying to accomplish. It shows me there is an inherent failure in pitching. The luck involved, the factors you can't control. You just have to let go of those and focus on the next batter, the next game.

Political parties depend for existence and success, not so much on the holding of identical views, as on a shared philosophy and ties of loyalty and respect between members. So there are good reasons to try to find compromises when differences emerge on a specific matter.

Don't let the reasons why you don't accomplish your dreams be because of you or a decision that you made. Do everything that you can possibly do to achieve that dream.
