I was growing up watching Rooney as an England legend and as one of the top players in England in my lifetime.

Coming into a new club, it's always exciting.

Sometimes I was getting bored playing in youth games and in the reserves; I didn't think it was challenging. I always wanted to be challenged and better myself.

Petr Cech has been a top keeper in the Premier League for the last 10-12 years. When you're growing up, you see him making these saves week in, week out. He's probably been the most consistent goalkeeper in these last 10 years in the Premier League, so you can't give him too much criticism.

Acting was a lot like football. When you're a DB and you're one on one with a receiver, you're going to dance. It's go-time in front of 100,000 people and everybody watching on TV. That's exactly how it is when a director says 'Action!' It's the same adrenaline rush, the same training process. I love it.

If people feel 4-4-2 is the way forward in international football, they'll have to wait until I'm out of a job.

If you have lost matches and not played to potential, criticism will come your way. Critics and media will say what they see and take you on. They will say things which you might not like to hear. But that's professional sport.

I probably should have gotten out, but I really enjoyed the challenge of bringing a team to that game. In fact, I probably enjoy the challenge of it more than the actual game.
