I am not a professional politician.

Maybe it's my libertarian philosophy: but being in government is hard.

My philosophy is not a bean-counting, accounting 'look at this.' It is a philosophy that smaller government is better government, and government that is closer to the people is best of all.

I think that, especially among conservatives, there's a clear understanding that there are three legs to the conservative stool. There are the free-market economics conservatives, the social conservatives, and the national-security conservatives.

The truth is that a campaign defines how the electorate will see their president - and this all the more true when shaping the president's image in the eyes of the largest constituency that will actually not vote for them: the international community.

In a government whose distinguishing characteristic should be a diffusion and equalization of its benefits and burdens the advantage of individuals will be augmented at the expense of the community at large.

I worry about the direction of the U.K. and U.K. politics and governance in the event of a Brexit.

We cannot afford to walk down that dangerous path of government overstepping its boundaries into the most personal parts of our lives.
