People have heard about me, but they haven't heard about things my brother and my parents have gone through, and stories about growing up and living a dream come true.

It's tough at times to not play.

I come from a very normal day job, a very normal upbringing, so I had six or seven years working in an office nine to five in human resources. The beginning of my political career was not promising. I ran for junior class president at Shortridge High school and was runner up. I ran again in the senior year with the same result. But opportunity came ironically, or fortunately, when I returned to Indianapolis after serving in the Navy.
