If you write for somebody that you know, then your job is so much easier.

We all had jobs that were just fronts. I felt like I was in the mob. I had a job, but that wasn't my real job. My real job was to be an actor. I always knew that and never forgot that.

We're in this really different world of television where everybody is binge watching, and it almost doesn't matter where you're airing.

I grew up in a bit of a vacuum. And as a kid, you see 'Monty Python's Flying Circus' and you're like, 'Oh, it's a cartoon.' There's mixed media. It's funny, and there's stop-motion. But as an adult, you figure it out, how the entire underpinnings of their comedy was poking fun at the rank and file of the British aristocracy and the monarchy.

Catherine Tate was a proven comedy actress from a comedy background with great taste. I knew her work, and was an incredible fan.

I have been a big fan of the 'Fast and the Furious' franchise. The films are fast-paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate.

It's like cooks don't watch cooking programmes - I suppose maybe comedians don't watch comedy shows.
