I never felt like I belonged in Minnesota when I was growing up there. That's why I was out the door as soon as I turned 18.

I would definitely want kids. Would they be dancers? I dunno. That's up to them. If they show interest, I will push them do the best. I was not brought up in a dancer's family. I was brought up in a family where the mentality was whatever you do, you gotta try to be the best at it.

Nobody knows better than I do what the pressures of party leadership can do to a young family. It tore mine apart.

Having a writer in the family is a curse - for the family. I do feel more or less guilty when I'm writing.

Unless taught otherwise, children are the most selfish, oblivious little Philistines on the planet. They have no family, no job, no responsibilities, and nothing but time to think about their gluttonous, sticky selves. We should be teaching them to take some focus off of themselves and onto how they can best serve/treat others.
