We need to recognize that it is growing economic inequality that creates the conditions for hate to fester.

I am focused on building a stronger Canada, a country where we tackle growing inequality, where we unlock the full potential of our citizens and where no one is left behind.

The same way I'm not afraid of calling out systemic discrimination, I'm also not afraid of calling out inequality and the fact that inequality is growing in society and that affects everybody, regardless of race.

I hope I represent a type of politics where we bring people together, where we inspire people - and we do it with this motivation of building a world that's better for everybody.

The technology of the time dictated the way things looked.

It's a world where you're going to have a phone, a tablet, a computer - you don't have to choose. And so what's more important is how you seamlessly move between them all... It's not like this is a laptop person and that's a tablet person. It doesn't have to be that way.

While technology and assessment can help complement the important work of our teachers, I worry that we are spending too much of our time testing.

I don't think it is just in the world of politics. The lack of civility in society as a whole, some of it, I believe, is very much fueled by social media and frankly, it's fueled by the fact that journalism is not journalism any more.
