I used to define success as being able to produce any result you wanted, whether it was a relationship, weight-loss, being a millionaire, impacting the culture, changing society, whatever it might be - it might be homelessness, whatever - and lately, I've redefined success as 'fulfilling your soul's purpose.'

At the end of the day, you realize that this is important stuff, but it isn't as important as how my kids feel about me. That's how I'm going to measure my success - not how I did as counsel to the president or as attorney general. How did I do as a dad?

I had a goal in mind and a dream, and I worked as hard as I possibly could and was eventually able to make it. And I think that's because I had that focus and that drive and never thought that I was going to fail.

Success is ever so dangerous. Once you rise to success, it's so easy to stop doing the things that made you successful.
