In the past 20 years and more since China embarked on the road of reform and opening up, we have moved steadfastly to promote political restructuring and vigorously build democratic politics under socialism.

China recognizes and also respects the universality of human rights. We will continue our efforts to promote democracy and the rule of law.

China is a developing country with a huge population, and also a developing country in a crucial stage of reform. In this context, China still faces many challenges in economic and social development. And a lot still needs to be done in China, in terms of human rights.

Democracy is the common pursuit of mankind, and all countries must earnestly protect the democratic rights of the people.

My core belief is to seek peace in the world, helping people eliminate certain malevolent attitudes through education as much as possible.

When my grandma passed away, the one person I prayed for was my mom. I just hope that she finds peace. I hope she believes in a loving life.

Those of us who actually were working in the region at the time will point out how strongly committed we were to supporting the democratic process and encouraging elections, in spite of the fact that a war was going on in several of these countries.

I want to say a simple thing, that the dividing line exists not between Jordan and Israel, but between the proponents of peace and the opponents of peace.
