Coming from the U.S., you tend to look at one homogeneous market with 350 million people. But in Europe, every country has its own customs and laws.

Early in my career, having many visible tattoos created obstacles and presented quite a challenge to move forward. I've heard comments like, 'actors don't have tattoos.' The notion of typecasting was a reoccurring theme despite my passion toward creativity and personal expression.

I have made a career out of my hobby, which is an incredibly fortunate position to be in, but you have to have the passion. Even today, I will go down to the studio and start singing for what I think is 10 minutes, and I look at the clock, and it's been two hours.

When entrepreneurs talk about their success, they rarely talk about luck. I think that's because most of them think the concept denigrates the hard work and smart thinking they put into their projects. But luck is a huge part of any successful business.
