As one of the country's largest land-grant universities, Ohio State must play a critical role in moving our country forward.

College graduates work in every sector of the American economy, and the research engines incubated within our universities generate a wealth of ideas and innovations that have an enormous impact on our lives.

I believe that it is higher education's purpose and calling to keep open the door to the American dream.

You have great athletic directors, you let them run it; you keep yourself informed, but I'm not the athletic director. I'm the president of the university.

I feel fit and well - I know that I have to look after my health, but turning 30 is no reason to start considering the end of my career.

In my late 30s, I flirted with the idea of having a child without necessarily being in a steady relationship. But I've never had a strong maternal urge, and then I got cancer of the womb - luckily caught at an early stage - so that put paid to that.

Decades of scientific research has proven that carbon pollution is harmful to human health and causes global warming.

I look forward to working with our leadership team to advance the causes of smaller government, lower taxes, eliminating terrorism, and providing affordable health care, among other issues.
