I like conflict in songs.

I do believe that any conflict has a better chance of being resolved if two people can come face to face.

I used to play music all night and sleep during the day. I was very career-minded. The music dominated everything and anything that interfered with that, I put a stop to it.

At college I had a Saturday job in a hardware store and I got #1. When I came to London in 1966 and lived in a bedsit, I got a temporary job as a salesman in a C&A store. I don't know what I earned: enough to pay the rent, I imagine. Then, in 1967'68, I worked as a postal clerk for #10 a week.

Success to me does not mean money.

I can't see myself leaving the club I grew up supporting... it's one of those things, the money's great but I still get paid reasonably well from the Lions and at the end of the day I think job satisfaction is the No.1 priority and I just love it up here.

It's hurting Democrats if you do really go profoundly negative in the primary. Most of them don't. They actually realize the most effective use of their money is to make sure they stand out in front of the voters and the voters understand their story.

The failure of Socialism since 1945 is that whilst encouraging us all, the creators of wealth, to produce less through strikes, it has caused us all to demand a higher level of our own product.
