Pennant races drain the energy from the best of them. Old-fashioned baseball races are to me the most grueling daily test in any sport. Gotta keep coming out, every day, in the face of looming disaster.

I would never tell anybody to give up hockey - the great sports we have here - basketball, lacrosse - rugby coming into its own - we've got so many great team sports, and I say hold on to them.

All our lives are enriched by the leadership and excellence and confidence of female athletes, whether the Mia Hamms and Maya Moores we know or the field hockey, lacrosse and track and field athletes we do not necessarily know.

At the end of the day, if we don't show female sports on TV, how are sponsors going to want to sponsor women? And if we don't support the women, how do you expect us to get results? It's a bit of a catch-22.

When I was younger, I was a little bit fat. I wasn't, like, big-time fat; I was just overweight - maybe around when I was 13 or 14. At that time, I wasn't practicing that much; tennis was just a hobby. But it wasn't easy to feel that way.

I'm a big watcher of sports, consumer of sports content, so I love documentaries; I love the format.

In tennis, a lot of parents are accused of driving their kids into tennis. I would say I'm the opposite: I drove my parents into it. They didn't take it that seriously until I was about 11 or 12 years old, when they realised I had an opportunity to go pro.
