It was a difficult second record. I had moments where I couldn't write; had moments where I was writing lots. It was just a massive learning process for me.

The goal was always to do something that felt human but was 100 percent electronic.

I just want to write another record that's as good or better than the one I've already made. That's my main goal, to follow up stronger than before.

Combining sounds that are from another universe with the classic songwriting structures never gets old for me.

Working with lots of old media clients, I've had a front-row seat on the ascension of new social players and the decline of traditional news outlets. And it's clear to me that old media has an awful lot to learn from social media, in particular in five key areas: relevance, distribution, velocity, monetization, and user experience.

It's funny how the music industry is enraged about the Internet and the way things are copied without being paid for. But you know why people steal the music? Because they can't afford the music.

I just thought making machines intelligent was the coolest thing you could do. I had a summer internship in AI in high school, writing neural networks at National University of Singapore - early versions of deep learning algorithms. I thought it was amazing you could write software that would learn by itself and make predictions.

But I don't think we'll go there until we go back to the moon and develop a technology base for living and working and transporting ourselves through space.
